Silver Hart Mine Application Deemed Complete

Vancouver, B.C.: CMC Metals Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received confirmation that the Silver Hart Mine Application has been deemed complete by the Yukon Environmental Socio-economic Assessment Board (YESAB). This is a significant milestone for the approval process at the Silver Hart Mine project. President and CEO of the Company commented "We are very pleased to see the application deemed complete. We can now focus our efforts to ensure the Silver Hart Mine development comes to fruition by implementing our project management plans. With CMC's business philosophy focused on developing high grade silver and base metal deposits such as the Silver Hart Mine project, this will provide a significant opportunity to investors looking at managing their risk exposure during these difficult market conditions." The application was deemed complete August 28th, 2008 which requires YESAB to present project recommendations in a Decision Document to the Yukon Government (YG) by October 28th, 2009. YG can than issue development permits to construct the mine and mill infrastructure after receiving the Decision Document. A Class B Water license will be applied for the milling operation upon receipt of the YESAB Decision Document. Based on current approval schedules, mill commissioning and full production could take place as soon as mid 2009.
