LocationThe Silver Hart property is located in south central Yukon, Canada in an area that contains numerous epithermal silver-rich vein and replacement style deposits. Access to the property is by a 42 kilometer all weather access road, 132 kilometers west on the Alaska highway from the community of Watson Lake. The property is comprised of 126 claims, covering and area of 2142 hectares. The property is situated on the contact between the Cassiar Batholith and the regional Cretaceous, lower Cambrian Atan group sediments.HistoryProperty was initially stake as early as 1947. Detailed exploration hadn't occurred until 1971 when exploring for tungsten skarn. During the detailed geological mapping and sampling in the area, skarn hosted veins and replacement lead/zinc mineralization was found. The CMC claims were staked in 1980 and over the following years over $7.0 million was spent on exploration drilling (5,741 m), trench sampling, geophysical surveys, detail geological mapping, underground developments (673 m), access road development, and metallurgical and environmental baseline studies.A high grade silver vein system was found in 1982 and explored extensively over the following few years. It occurs at the contact between the Cassiar Batholith and the regional sedimentary formations. Mineralization was found near the shear zones in a series of stacked faults. The vein consists of a wide shear zone containing veins of galena, tetrahedrite and sphalerite. Three mineralized zones about 1.8 m (5.91 feet) wide named the TM, F & S, have been traced for an aggregate length of 1,160 m (3806 feet). A new zone (Meteorite Zone or M Zone) was discovered in 1986 north and east of the F Zone. It appears to consist of 3 parallel veins. Chip samples taken along a 21 m strike length averaged 1,187.8 g/t Ag (38.2 ounces) across 1.5 m (4.92 feet).Drilling and surface sampling by CMC has occurred in 2007 to 2009 to expand our understanding of the M zone. Trenching in 1987 identified numerous other mineralized areas. At the end of the 1987 program, a historical estimate was conducted by F. Marshall Smith, 1988, for the TM zone. Later a technical report was prepared by W.S Read and James a McCrea (2005),an independent qualified persons under NI43-101. The technical report is included with the figures below. Two resource categories were stated as inferred open cut resources and inferred underground resources. The historic resources are based on 50 diamond drill holes (3658m, 12,000 feet), 673m (2208 feet) of adit and 2 raises. The drill holes were used to determine thickness and style of mineralization. The most recent exploration occurred in 2009 by CMC Metals Ltd. Program goals are to expand the geological data on the M and TM zones with infill and down dip depth drilling. A NI43-101 compliant resource estimate for the KL,TM, and M zones will be conducted by the end of 2009. Also, the continuing environmental submissions to the YESAB Executive Committee is scheduled for late 2009. Mineral ResourcesThe Silver Hart property has had previous historical resource estimates conducted but pre-dadte the implementation of the NI43-101 standards. Therefore, until a NI43-101 compliant estimate is completed, the historical estimates should not be relied upon. An Independent Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves. Furthermore, the Company is not treating the historical estimate as current mineral resources or mineral reserves as defined in section 1.2 and 1.3 of the NI43-101 Standards.Future PlansFor 2009, plans for the Silver Hart property is to continue with infill drilling on the TM and M zones, plus finish an updated NI 43-101 resource estimate to including the drill data from 2005 to 2009.Figures |
